Curriculum
It is our goal to help all children develop an understanding and love for their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, while learning the skills they need to succeed both now and in the future. Our curriculum is consistent with high-quality, achievable, yet challenging, early-learning standards. Children are encouraged to explore while acquiring key concepts in early reading, language, math, writing, gross-motor, fine-motor, and social skills.
According to the Nevada Pre-Kindergarten Standards (2010), "Play is how children find out about their world. All types of play - manipulative play, play with games, rough-and-tumble play, and socio-dramatic play - provide children with opportunities to try things out, see what happens, and learn."
Thus, At Mountain View Lutheran Preschool, we encourage their learning through movement, interaction, and active and engaging play, and develop students well-equipped to move in to elementary school and beyond.
The vast majority of students who graduate Mountain View Lutheran have continued their education at Faith Lutheran Middle School, for which MVLS is the only feeder school in this part of Las Vegas. We are proud to send students who are firm in their faith, strong in confidence and character, and well-prepared for the rigors of prestigious high school programs.
LICENSING
Our preschool is licensed by and exceeds the standards set by the State of Nevada. Our staff are qualified in early childhood education and hold a certificate by Nevada Registry stating that they are active in professional development and obtain ongoing training each year in the field of early education. We are also proud participants of the NV Silver State Stars-QRIS (Quality Rating Improvement System). We are always aspiring to go above and beyond STAR quality care and education.
before and after care
Before- and After-care are available to all students at Mountain View. Our caring staff is on hand from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, and students get time on the playground, in the gym, time to do homework, and time to make special art and craft projects. Contact the school office for more information.
