Education has always been celebrated and encouraged in my life. The emphasis of the individual child and his/her unique point of view has been a mainstay of my philosophy. I have a variety of experience in several grade levels, but none excites me more than Kindergarten. The journey they are beginning is fantastic and a joy to experience with them!

Teaching has always been a passion of mine. I believe in meeting learners where they are and using their unique learning style to help achieve academic and personal growth. I have experience teaching different grade levels in the areas of music and tutoring assistance; however, I have taught the majority of my career in the first grade classroom.  While teaching reading is one of my ultimate joys in the classroom, my biggest passion is helping students learn about the love of Christ and His plan for them.

I am one of those people who have always known what they wanted to be when they grew up. I decided at a young age I wanted to be a teacher, and I have never looked back. Once I enrolled my oldest daughter in Preschool at Mountain View Lutheran in 2013, I knew I had to be a part of this school. Since 2015, I have been on staff, and I am so excited to be teaching Grade 3 at Mountain View Lutheran. I love coming to work each day, being able to share the love of God, and seeing each and every child grow in their own individual and unique ways.

After traveling the world with my husband's military career, we settled in Las Vegas for yet another assignment.  During this time I fell in love with the Lutheran Education system, and we left the active duty military world.  We have enrolled all four of our girls in the LCMS educational system and witnessed firsthand the effects of a loving team of educators that is vested in their students and a truly grounded, God-influenced manner of teaching.  I knew that I wanted to be a part of this system the moment we enrolled our first daughter at Mountain View Lutheran School.  God brought us to Vegas by way of the military, however, He kept me here to educate and influence future generations to know and love Him through their education.

After teaching for a year in public schools, I missed discussing God’s love with my students, so I was overjoyed when God opened the door for me to come to MVLCS. It has been a great joy to guide my students as they grow spiritually, physically, and academically as they move through the grades at Mountain View and on to junior and senior high school and beyond.

I’ve wanted to be a teacher since I was a toddler, propping up my baby brothers to play school. I once turned down a job offer at Microsoft so that I could continue to teach children. I love sharing the excitement of students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 as they learn and master skills in word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and keyboarding. It’s also a joy to watch students grow in their spiritual journey as they eagerly volunteer to lead their classmates in opening prayers each week.

My husband is the luckiest man in the world. He has been married to me for 25+ years. I have two sons, Matthew and Robert, and a fur-baby, Abby. I originally started at Mountain View as a parent to a preschooler years ago. I decided that I liked it so much, I came to work here.  I left for a while to pursue another school and schooling opportunities in early childhood education. I enjoy working and sharing the love of the Lord with children. I love them like they are my own. After some time away, I felt a strong feeling that I needed to come home, so, here I am!
